To be considered for admission to the FET Certificate: Jewellery Manufacturing Operations at Mineral Beneficiation College, applicants must meet one of the following minimum qualification requirements:
The tuition fee is payable to Mineral Beneficiation College (MBC). All tools and equipment including stationery are included in the tuition fee for each student. The fee is to be sponsored by a committed sponsor of the programme — being a parent, the SETA (MQA), a private company (mining house), SARS, or another sponsor.
A list of prescribed tools and consumables will be provided by Mineral Beneficiation College to either the parent, the SETA (MQA), or the private company for them to purchase for the student. The minimum number of students to be taught is 20 per annum or level at each site.
In cases where a student is required to study away from home, the sponsor is responsible for arranging and funding:
MBC can facilitate accommodation and logistics at an additional cost.
A learner stipend of R1 800 per learner per month over 12 months is recommended to motivate learners to attend training regularly.
