Mineral Beneficiation College (MBC) is the first of its kind. It is South Africa's first precious minerals beneficiation college established to serve as a "Mineral Beneficiation vehicle" to beneficiate the platinum and other precious minerals mined in the province of Limpopo into finished products — jewellery pieces and coins — to benefit the locals through partnership with Local Mines.
Our partners include Anglo American Mines, Northam Holdings and African Rainbow Minerals, among others.
Over the past decade, MBC together with various communities and valuable stakeholders — including the SETA MQA and NAMB — developed this Prospectus to train the youth of South Africa.
The Prospectus is a blueprint of development aspirations of MBC as well as the country South Africa in creating Artisans for the nation, enabling the country to sustain itself. It continues to guide the development of youth for over 20 years, facilitated by the industry's SETA (MQA), in trying to overcome complex challenges and usher South Africa into a dynamic, modern and sustainable society in line with the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) — Technology Revolution.

Job Creation via Skills Development — We train the youth of South Africa in jewellery design and manufacture, equipping them to become self-sufficient by opening their own workshops to service clients with jewellery refurbishment and repairs.
Open Door Policy — Graduates can always return to access tools and equipment needed for manufacturing orders through our Rent-a-Bench model.
National Outreach — We tour the country to introduce jewellery manufacturing and design as a career option to high school learners, carrying demonstration benches to communities across South Africa.
International Exposure — Students are exposed to local and international exhibitions and exchange skills transfer missions, gaining access to new techniques from abroad.
Accreditation Path — MBC is working toward SETA (MQA) programme approval, QCTO accreditation as an Assessment Quality Partner (AQP), and Further Education and Training (FET) Status Accreditation.
Precious Metals Licence — We are applying for a Precious Minerals Beneficiation Licence from the South African Diamond and Precious Metals Regulator (SADPME) to create coins and sustain the project's financial independence.
